The MiSTEM Council called for a Science and Engineering Action Area that works to “Ensure that students have Science and Engineering Literacy as a 21st century skill”. By leveraging resources and commitment from collaborative members across the state, Science & Engineering for Michigan will empower, facilitate, and deliver high-quality, boundary-spanning STEM education that educates all children through an equitable, inclusive, and holistic approach.
By 2026, a Science & Engineering Collaborative will be built to support an integrated STEM approach
By 2026, the Collaborative will increase professional learning and ongoing support in Project-, Problem-, and/or Place-Based pedagogy by 15% in every region of the state.
By 2026, the Collaborative will increase Michigan students’ positive STEM identity by 15%.
